Out-of-Hospital Birth Care Providers

 In SC, midwives are licensed by DHEC and attend births in homes and at freestanding birth centers.  Professional midwives provide care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.  They recognize birth as a normal life event and are a great option for low-risk women seeking an out-of-hospital birth.
